Ajay Banga spoke to Agence France-Presse at the development lender’s headquarters in Washington ahead of the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, which begin on Monday, October 21.

One of the features is the new “Collage” tool, which Instagram is launching just in time for the holidays. After some users noticed it in-stream last month, the platform has officially rolled it out as part of its holiday push. 

Instagram is encouraging users to create a visual recap of their year by sharing their favorite memories from 2024 in a beautifully designed collage. The Collage feature offers a stylish way to showcase it all.

In addition, Instagram is promoting new “Add Yours” templates to keep the holiday momentum going. These templates invite followers to participate in fun trends by adding their own photos or thoughts. Perfect for those looking to connect with friends and family, these seasonal prompts are designed to inspire participation and collaboration.

Instagram has also introduced a “New Year” font and a “Countdown” text effect. These additions bring an extra touch of excitement as users count down to 2025.

And for those who love chatting, Instagram is launching new chat themes for the season.

Instagram is also highlighting certain phrases in DMs and Notes with a fresh purple color, making it easy to spread holiday cheer.

Want to send a cheerful “Happy New Year”? It will now stand out in vibrant purple. To add to the fun, Instagram is even rolling out a custom “Like” animation for users celebrating New Year’s Eve.
