MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) on Tuesday approved the release of over P30 billion for the first quarter pension of military and uniformed personnel (MUP).

“The releases are based on the actual pension payroll submitted by the above-mentioned MUP agencies as of December 31, 2024,” DBM added.
The one-year Loan Prime Rate (LPR), which constitutes the benchmark for the most advantageous rates lenders can offer to businesses and households, was cut from 3.35 percent to 3.1.

At the same time, 34 pensioners from the National Mapping and Resource Information under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources will also get P8.530 million.
Meantime, P350.680 million allocated for the 2,836 retired personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard under the Department of Transportation.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos earlier approved the national budget for 2025 which amounted to P6.326 trillion, from the initial P6.352 trillion.
